Dr. Elie M. Ferneini is a distinguished Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon based in Cheshire, CT. He earned his higher education degrees from local institutions, including a B.S. (Magna Cum Laude) from Southern Connecticut State University, an M.H.S. and M.B.A. from Quinnipiac University, and a D.M.D. and M.D. from the University of Connecticut Medical and Dental Schools. Dr. Ferneini completed his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery and additional general surgery training at the University of Connecticut. He currently holds teaching positions as an associate clinical professor at both the University of Connecticut and Quinnipiac University's Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine, contributing to both undergraduate and graduate medical and dental education. Dr. Ferneini is a diplomate and board examiner for the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Medical research and publishing have been central to Dr. Ferneini’s career, enabling him to offer evidence-based treatments and the most advanced techniques for his patients. His extensive research experience has led to over 150 scientific publications and book chapters. Additionally, Dr. Ferneini has co-edited ten textbooks on various aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery. He currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the American Journal of Cosmetic Surgery and as a section editor for the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Ferneini also lectures nationally and internationally on diverse topics in oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Dr. Ferneini’s primary goal is to treat every patient as if they were a family member. He resides in Hamden with his wife, Moniek, and their children, Michael, Isabella, and Anthony.
